April 14th Meeting Cancelled ....

Our normal PTC meeting is this Thursday, April 14th but I don't have any topics to discuss so we will be postponing until next month.

December PTC Meeting - Monday, Dec 13

We are going to reschedule our December PTC meeting from tomorrow, Thursday, Dec 9th to next Monday, December 13th at 6pm at MONTSWEAG ROADHOUSE! They have $5 burger night and we thought it would be fun to enjoy a more festive meeting for the holidays!

RSU1 School Baord Meeting - Monday, Nov 15 @6pm - West Bath Elem

The RSU 1 administration is proposing a switch to standards-based grading from the 6th – 12th grade. We currently have this grading system until the 5th grade, but the plan is to extend this to 12th grade. The current scale is A+ to F- (......15 levels) for grades 6-12. This will be reduced to 4 levels (1-4) on a standards-based report card. If you’d like to have a voice on this topic before the School Board votes, please consider attending this meeting.

Hall-Dale School (RSU 2) switched to this report card. 140 parents signed a petition against it, but it made no difference. They are now finding that the 1-4 scale doesn’t have enough levels. The Superintendent of Schools in Yarmouth also proposed this through 12th grade, but the Yarmouth Board recently voted it down due to the objections of parents. Nancy Harriman will be presenting on the elementary report card at tomorrow’s meeting.

First PTC Meeting Tonight, Thursday, Sept 23

Just a reminder that our 1st PTC meeting is tonight, Thursday, Sept 23 at 6pm at WCS in the cafeteria!! Hope to see you there!

PTC Meeting, Thursday, April 15th

We will be holding our PTC meeting at 545p on this Thursday, April 15th. There is an RSU1 Board of Directors meeting at 6pm. We will meet just prior to go over a few things and then anyone who wishes can go to the Board of Directors meeting.

Tonight's RSU 1 board meeting has been postponed until Tuesday, March 23rd at 6:00 PM in the MHS cafeteria.

PTC Meeting - February 3rd at 6p

WOOLWICH PTC MEETING ..... THIS WEDNESDAY, FEB 3 AT 6PM .... AT MONTSWEAG ROADHOUSE!!!

We thought we'd mix it up a touch and meet at Montsweag for $5 Burger Night!! (Not sure this is in the Wellness Policy, but ..... ;) Please comment here or email us so we can get a count for a table. We will be discussing some funding requests, Cabin Fever Dance, etc. Hope you can join us!

Jan and Feb Meeting Info...

I hope everyone enjoyed a fun filled and happy winter vacation!

Sally Foster orders arrived and I have only heard of a few issues. Please let me know if you have heard otherwise. I am canceling our January meeting next week. We have a bit of a lull in activities, so I felt there was not a great need to get out on a cold winter night. We will meet in February, however, I wanted to give you the heads up now that I am going to change the date to the first Thursday, February 4th. Our normal Thursday is the day before we head out on February break so I thought many might not be able to make that if traveling, etc.

Also, I have added Woolwich PTC to Facebook!!! I thought this could be another place where on the day of our meetings, etc. I could post a reminder. Please do not feel like you must "friend" Woolwich PTC, just thought it might serve as another spot of communication!

PTC Meeting - Oct ober 8, 2009...

Our next PTC meeting will be this Thursday, Oct 8th at 6pm at WCS. We typically meet in the middle school wing and our meetings last about 1 hour. Hope you can join us!

Last PTC Meeting of 2008-2009 Year...

The PTC will be holding it's last meeting of the year tonight, Thursday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. We thought it would be fun to go out to dinner and are planning on meeting at Montsweag Roadhouse at 6:30 p.m. If you would plan on attending and have not said so yet, please email Karen Madden at woolwichptc@yahoo.com since we are making reservations.

PTC Meeting - Thursday, Feb 5, 2009

The February PTC meeting will be moved to a new date of February 5, 2009 at 6 p.m. at WCS.

Our meeting was to be on February 12 but the WCS February vacation starts on Feb 14th, so in an abundance of caution, we are going to move it to the week prior so we don't have too many members missing it if they are traveling. In addition, since December's meeting was canceled due to weather and January's meeting was canceled due to the straw vote, we need to meet for a few funding requests that have been received.
